Creative Rock Hound Stories

For this assignment you will write a creative story in Microsoft Word using some information from the Rock Hound Website.  Your story should incorporate characters, a setting (location), and a plot (storyline).  Your story should have at least 3 paragraphs with 6 or more sentences each.  Your first paragraph should introduce your characters and describe the setting.  The second paragraph should describe the storyline or plot.  The third paragraph should be the final ending of the story, a conclusion of your plot.  You may visit the Rock Hound Website anytime to utilize the information there.

Make sure your story has the following:

• Font size 14
• Any readable font
• Black font color
• A title
• Indented paragraphs
• An appropriate picture to accompany your story

Incorporate these into your story:

• One of the following categories:  sedimentary, igneous, or metamorphic

• Two names of rocks in the category you chose from above
• Two safety tips when rock hounding

When you are finished:

• Proofread your story
• Go over these directions again to make sure you have not forgotten anything
• Print on the color printer
• Turn into the tray
• Find a website at Websites We Use to occupy your extra time
