Ellil was one of the most important and powerful Gods in Mesopotamia, so powerful other Gods can’t even look at him. This God’s main city is Nippur where the people sent up offerings to him. In addition to being important he was the father of many other gods and goddesses. Ellil’s job as a god is to guard the “tablets of destiny”, cuneiforms that he writes the fate of the Earth on.
