Chris Picott is our eighth grade homeroom teacher and teaches Social Studies and Literature to our seventh and eighth grade students. He grew up in Los Angeles. Mr. Picott earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Environmental Education and English from Sonoma State University. He also completed two years of Peace Corps service in the West African country of Ghana as an agriculture and forestry volunteer. After his return to the States, Mr. Picott completed a program at the University of San Francisco to earn his Master’s Degree in Education. Mr. Picott holds a Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
Mr. Picott’s out of school interests include looking for one of a kind items at local garage sales. He makes junk art with the treasures he finds. His favorite thing to do is to spend time with his wife, who recently published her second novel, and his little girl, Kylah. His favorite places traveled include: Victoria Falls, Great Wall of China, Terra Cota Warriors in Xian, China, Bali, and our own Grand Canyon. He lives in Healdsburg with his wife and child, only away from both his parents and in-laws. His favorite saying is, “Smile until it becomes real.”
