Karen Klimak is our art teacher. She grew up in Ohio. She attended Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio and completed a Bachelor of Art degree in Art Education. She has also attended Morley College in London, England for painting, etching, and ceramic classes, and has taken classes at The Cane Shop in Berkeley, focusing on basket weaving and willow chair making.
Her out of school interests are creating window displays for several shops in Healdsburg. She is also a member of the Antique Society in Sebastopol. Her favorite things to do are create “Junk Sculpture” and work in her garden. Her favorite places traveled to include Italy for its fabulous art and food and London, England because she lived there for 5 years and likes to visit her family and friends there. She lives in Healdsburg with her husband, and their two pets. Mrs. Klimak says, “I’ve loved art all my life and am always surprised and delighted at what students create. Exposing them to different materials, methods, and some basic art terms is my goal.”
