St. John The Baptist Catholic School

Lyn Rutherford is our long term substitute teacher in the  Pre-Kindergarten class. Mrs. Rutherford is originally from the small village of Penn on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, England. After graduating from Bilston College's Child Centered Studies Program she received her Nation Nursery Nurses Examination Board Certificate (NNEB). She then worked at Eastfield Elementary School in preschool and kindergarten classes, which also encompassed a hearing impaired unit.

She came to the U.S. and settled in Sepastopol to work for a family as a nanny. Continuing her education at SRJC she completed California's preschool qualifications. Working as a director, Mrs. Rutherford helped launch Little Oaks Preschool and Daycare Center in 1992. In 1996 she came to teach in the Town of Windosr's preschool program, becoming the Director of Children's Programming until 2003. She has very happily returned to preschool teaching.

Mrs. Rutherford has lived in Windsor since 1991, has two boys, a dog, two cats, and a husband! Her eldest son graduated from St. John School in 2006 and her younger son is currently attending St. John School.  Her husband has worked at Cardinal Newman High School for 27 years and is now the principal.

Mrs. Rutherford has supported the drama program at St. John School for many years through costuming. She enjoys all things culinary and finding bargains online and at garage sales.  She loves to holiday anywhere that the water is warm and the sun shines constantly and can often be heard in the afternoons saying, "It must be time for a cuppa."
