She taught the seventh grade in the subjects of life science, social studies, literature, pre-algebra, and religion. She also taught the eighth grade in the subjects of physical science and social studies. While teaching she was also the head of science curriculum development and a member of the technology committee. Ms. Palanos holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Franciscan University and has taken education courses at Eastern Illinois University. She holds two New Jersey Teaching Certificates, as well as two Illinois Standard Teaching Credentials. She is currently working on her California Multiple Subject Credential.
Ms. Palanos’ major accomplishments she is most proud of include coordinating a science unit within a junior high using problem based learning, being the head coach and organizer of a junior high Science Olympiad team and bringing them to the state competition, and being a team member to coordinate school wide K-8 disciplinary units that involved every teacher and student which culminated in a school Expo.
We are happy to have Ms. Palanos on our team.
