Tracy Camacho is our school Librarian for our new library. She grew up in Petaluma. Mrs. Camacho has attended the Dyslexia Center Training Specialist Course and the BrainGym Educational Kinesiology Course and has worked with children for many years. She has had several roles here at SJS. She was the Teaching Assistant in Kindergarten for 9 years and has been the Teaching Assistant in second grade for 5 years. She has also held the position of Director of Extended Care for two years. After many years of working with young children and observing the importance of reinforcing their emerging reading and language skills, she was thrilled to have the opportunity to coordinate and implement the opening of the library. Although she has enjoyed all of her roles at SJS, she feels the position of Librarian is the most rewarding. As well as her extensive work with children, her business background as a mortgage broker and a bookkeeper helped prepare her for this position. Her out of school interests include sponsoring women survivors of war in Rwanda through Women for Women International. For the past 5 years she has sponsored a woman for a year to be part of a program in Rwanda that helps train women to become self-sustaining and to help support their families. She loves to read, travel, golf, garden, swim, and walk. Her favorite places to travel are the local coastal areas because she loves the ocean. She also enjoys traveling to Hawaii because of the ocean and snorkeling. She lives in Windsor with her husband and daughter. Her daughter attended SJS from Kindergarten through eighth grade. |
